Project Spotlight:
While the ocean tides come and go, this waterfront icon is getting a historic renovation to ensure it stands forever!
Located right on the waterfront next to John Lawson Park in West Vancouver, the historic Navvy Jack House is the oldest standing building on Vancouver's North Shore. Built in 1872 by John "Navvy Jack" Thomas (who ran Burrard Inlet's first ferry and was integral to early construction in Vancouver through his supply of gravel), this 154 year old landmark holds permanent municipal heritage status. This renovation/transformation project expands the beautiful building into a 2,598 SF bistro facility, featuring a meticulously restored 1,206 SF footprint, a modern 768 SF addition, and a 624 SF open patio. When completed, Navvy Jack should accommodate up to 144 guests.
On this project, Corbally Consulting is proud to be responsible for the structural engineering of the exterior curtain wall, glass guards, sliding doors, guillotine windows, and the retractable glass roof.
